Synopsis
Jacques is a football player for the French team. After an unsuccessful game receives news of his father’s sudden death – the Prime Minister of France. His father, who’s listed among the top hundred in Forbes, leaves nothing but a few incomprehensible lines on a piece of paper. Jacques discovers that these are quotes from a forgotten children’s book, which he finds in an old country house – the only thing his father didn’t manage to sell. Inside the book, he finds an address for a bank in Rome, where, the same week he plans to marry Adele, a retired police officer.
Upon arrival, Jacques discovers a significant sum of money in the bank account but narrowly avoids an assassination attempt. However, as he makes his way to the police station, Interpol agents abduct him. Along the way, he begins to doubt when they take him out of town. In an attempt to escape, he receives an injection of a sedative in his neck.
Upon awakening, he meets his father. It turns out, he has decided to stage his own death after the first assassination attempt and start an investigation together with Interpol. Someone from his inner circle is under suspicion, not only for attempted murder but also for collaborating with terrorist organizations in the Middle East.
The scenario grows more intricate when it’s discovered that Jacques’ brother and sister, Mike and Anna, have already been kidnapped. Will they be able to save them, and then the world?
It’s a crime comedy that incorporates elements of heist and espionage, adding layers of intrigue and suspense to the plot. Balanced with intense action, the screenplay also includes humor and witty banter among the characters, providing moments of levity and camaraderie. At the same time, the story emphasizes themes of family, loyalty, and friendship.
